Synopsis:

The awkward, romantic comedy manga about geeks in love that inspired the new anime! Can a professional man who’s secretly a hardcore gamer and a woman who’s secretly a fujoshi date without their hobbies getting in the way, or revealing each other’s secrets?

Extra-long book includes 2 Japanese volumes!

Narumi and Hirotaka are, by all appearances, a power couple. They’re young, good-looking professionals. But they have secrets from everyone but each other: They’re serious geeks! Narumi is a fujoshi, and Hirotaka’s a hardcore gamer. Their sweet, awkward love story started life as a webcomic before becoming a full-blown manga series by popular demand, and is about to become a major anime series!work.

Short Review:

My final rating is 3.5 so for Goodreads sake a 4 stars.

This excluded the people who aren’t hardcore gamers. A lot of the references, jokes, puns and language they used was hard for me to understand. Which is a little sad since I do enjoy reading manga and watching anime. However, it didn’t ruin my overall experience or ability to get what was happening. This is just clearly targeting a specific type of audience.

The author did include an explanation of some of the things that were referenced at the end of each volume. Which was great but I was too lazy to go back and forth to read and compare.

The overall flow of the story was sweet, bubbly and intriguing. Dubbed as the springs cutest rom com, its only natural that I kept finding myself interested to see what happens next. The comics were cute but sometimes it was hard to follow what was part of the plot and what was just a bonus or something cute on the side.

What I really love about this author is the fact that he/she started out on wattpad I think or a site similar to it. Then their work became incredibly popular that it got turned into an actual anime! Which now got turned into an officially published manga! GUYS! Dreams do come true if you work hard enough!
