Goodreads Reading Challenge 2017

Hey Bookworms!!

Hows your reading going so far?

Are you close to your reading goal yet? Or did you flake out? All is good. Don’t worry, there’s no Judging.

As for me, well I entered this game pretty late. I only started the Goodreads challenge around July. I’m pretty bummed at myself for being sooo damn behind. However, I am determined to accomplish this as my new years resolution for this year. If you’ve been following my blog, then you would’ve known that I had a >TWO Year Reading Slump < that I only managed to shake off very recently, so doing this is really important me.

A Court Of Wings And Ruin | Sarah J. Maas

“Only you can decide what breaks you, Cursebreaker. Only you.”

“You bow to no one,”

Breakdown:

  • Book: A Court Of Wings And Ruin
  • Series: ACOWAR – Book Three
  • Author: Sarah J. Maas

Synopsis:

“Feyre has returned to the Spring Court, determined to gather information on Tamlin’s manoeuvrings and the invading king threatening to bring Prythian to its knees. But to do so she must play a deadly game of deceit – and one slip may spell doom not only for Feyre, but for her world as well.

As war bears down upon them all, Feyre must decide who to trust amongst the dazzling and lethal High Lords – and hunt for allies in unexpected places.”

REVIEW + SPOILERS:

“Night Triumphant – and the Stars Eternal.
If he was the sweet, terrifying darkness, I was the glittering light that only his shadows could make clear.”

I can not explain to you how excited I was to read it. I didn’t even wait after finishing the second one before launching straight into this one. There were a million unanswered questions and a million more things that I needed to know, RIGHT. NOW. However, there was ONE main thing I was looking forward to reading in this book.

A. The SPRING COURT. TAMLIN. LUCIEN.

The previous book, >ACOMAF<, ended with Feyre giving herself up to Tamlin in order to save her real family and true love. Obviously, I was dying to know how she was going to behave whilst she’s there. Especially after she pretended to be in love with Tamlin. Who is an absolute idiot by the way.

B. Rhysand, may he be mine.

Rhysand is a great example for men out there. He is strong, smart and supportive. His priorities are set straight. I need me some Rhysand in my life. He never forced Feyre to do anything she doesn’t want, he simply guides her. Every thing with him is always a choice. He cares for her, waits patiently for her to recover, helps her heal and completely understands her needs. He manages to balance between his own emotions and hers.

“I would have waited five hundred more years for you. A thousand years. And if this was all the time we were allowed to have… the wait was worth it.”

C. The All Truthful Mor

Mor is annoying as hell. We finally find out why she’s been avoiding Azriel this whole time. And it’s NOT ok. I completely understand her reasons, her feelings are justified and so is her ‘secrecy’. But keeping it to herself for 500 years and counting is just too much. She is being selfish. Especially when she knows how that he has been waiting for her this whole time, and honesty from her will finally help him move on. I’m not saying she has to tell the world, I’m just saying that it would’ve been better if she took Az somewhere private and explained her side to him. Azriel is also to blame. Morrison has made it clear that she hasn’t encouraged him in pursuing her. She has dated other people through out this whole time and refused him. He should finally take a hint and try to get over her. This whole situation with both of them is just soo complicated, I want it fixed! I just love them both so much!

D. Tamlin. Ugh, Tamlin. He is such a sore loser. I swear, the whole time he was there I just wanted to slap him.

Conclusion:

I LOOOOOVE this entire trilogy! And I’m definitely looking forward to the next ACOTAR books that will come out. I heard we might be getting three more in this universe so YES!

For the past AWESOME parts:

Final Rating:

“We’re all a broken, in our own ways – In places no one might see.”

August 2017 | Monthly Wrap Up

Welcome September! And Goodbye August! Hello red leaves, the cool breeze and flying scarfs. Hello Fall!

Reading in this past month of August has been very lucrative for me. I managed to finish a whooping number of books. Well, at least what qualifies as “whooping” for me which is eight books this August! Without even planning to. Since I’m currently on vacation and my siblings are busy living in their own world, I’ve had a lot of free time in my hands. Continue reading August 2017 | Monthly Wrap Up
